In Kolkata, the Education Minister, Bratya Basu, led the commemoration by garlanding the statue of Pandit Ishwarchandra Vidyasagar at College Square, acknowledging his enduring contributions.
The tributes extended beyond Kolkata, reaching Siliguri, where statues of Ishwarchandra Vidyasagar are located at various significant places. In a heartfelt homage, Mayor Gautam Dev, Municipal Corporation Chairman Pratul Chakraborty, and other dignitaries paid their respects to Pandit Ishwarchandra Vidyasagar at the Children Park in Ward No. 17 of Siliguri.
